Retail Therapy

For a little retail therapy take a stroll around the Victorian & Edwardian arcades where you will find plenty of quirky and fashionable outlets, not forgetting the more traditional shopping experiences. Howells of Cardiff, a House of Fraser store located on St Mary Street, was established in 1893, and is one the oldest department stores in the city. It houses numerous designer outlets, white goods, jewellery and food and drink from across the world in the impressive deli.
Capitol Centre on Queen Street, once an old concert venue where The Beatles played their last ever UK tour date splitting up, is now a fashionable and modern shopping centre where you can find the latest fashions in designer stores.


Stylish Bars & Restaurants

If you need to rest your feet during your shopping expedition grab some lunch in one of the city centre’s many cafes or restaurants. Try the Brewery Quarter for Spanish or Mexican cuisine in a Mediterranean style plaza or Mill Lane for al fresco dining.
The upmarket Greyfriars Road features bars including Tiger Tiger, The Fat Cat, the Hilton Steam Bar and the Laguna Restaurant and Bar - which offers a taste of local and international cuisine. Or why not try fresh fish at Le Monde or tapas in the stylish Pica Pica
In Cardiff Bay the restaurant quarter, Mermaid Quay, offers a wide variety of international dishes, with everything from Turkish to tapas, and you can enjoy magnificent views of the Wales Millennium Centre or Cardiff Bay


Fore Star!

Cardiff and the region offers some of the most scenic golf courses in the UK, from luxurious four and five star resorts to the picturesque mountain and coastal clubs. If you want round of golf and you don’t fancy travelling far, then St Mellons Golf Club is a 10 minute drive from the city centre. Set in beautiful parkland on the edge of the city, St Mellons provides one of the best tests of golf in South Wales.

Just 20 minutes drive east from St Mellons is The Celtic Manor Resort.
