Vanilla Rooms is a sophisticated basement bar just off the beaten track of the bustling city centre. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind by spending an evening supping one of over a hundred fabulous cocktails specially prepared by Christos Kyriakidis the renowned mixologist and manager of the Vanilla Rooms. But it’s not just cocktails on offer, indulge in a glass of fine wine or choose from a selection of outstanding Champagnes or from a range of over 300 spirits and liquors.

Laguna Kitchen and Bar is situated in the Park Plaza and offers an impressive cocktail menu amongst stylish and chic surroundings. Staff have created a menu including the classics and the unique. Signature cocktail: Pursuit of Happiness Grey Goose Vodka, Apple Schnapps, Fresh Basil, Homemade Camomile Cordial, Lemon juice. We’re happy!

Lab 22 is a mixologist’s lair, think Heston meets Einstein. Ring the doorbell to be escorted into one of the city’s most prestigious and unusual cocktail bars. Award winning cocktails fuse classic favorites with a specialist science, creating an unforgettable experience for the finest partygoer. The menu features the likes of a Carboxygin, Herbal Remedy No.22 and Mrs Einstein to name but a few.

Ten Mill Lane . A venue inspired by easy listening bars with quirky, relaxed surroundings and is said to be a place where ‘professionals, personalities and society folk can relax in sophisticated and discreet surroundings’. An extensive cocktail menu includes the ‘Twisting my Melon’; Ten Mill Lane secret negroni formula, watermelon and fresh lemon juice. Well you’ve twisted my arm at least. 

Be At One is in the heart of the city centre and a stone’s throw from the Principality Stadium. A relatively new kid on the block it offers an extensive cocktail list and is the first one of the established chain to open outside of England. One of their favourites is the Popster; combining sweet and salty popcorn, ice cream and butterscotch schnapps. Calorie shmalorie.

Milgi. They say they like to do things differently and they don’t focus on the frills but keep it simple using only the freshest fruit, the sexiest spirits and the most delectable combinations to deliver a truly satisfying liquid experience. New cocktails are created every season to suit the mood, . Mojitos come in the classic, apple & raspberry and Lychee & Basil variations. Oh go on then, I’ll try all three.

Mocka Lounge. This sought after bar has become a hot spot for locals and visitors alike combining celebrity treatment with award-winning cocktails. Based on a reputation for luxury, style and lavish surroundings and atmosphere, it remains a firm fave with cocktails including the Pornstar Martini; A martini with a pop. Stolichnaya vanilla vodka, Passoa, passion fruit juice and a dash of lime. Served with a shot of prosecco. Irresistible! 

Henry’s Cafe Bar is one of the city’s old school wine bars with classic décor and comfortable surroundings. Their cocktails are renowned for their use of the freshest fruits and combine  the talents of each of their bartenders to bring a selection of exciting additions. Henrietta Punch for example, is a beautiful combination of fresh blackberries, Apple Brandy and Raspberry & Elderflower Liqueurs, served over ice and topped with Apple Cider. Refreshing! 

Las Iguanas. We are lucky enough to have two of these establishments so there is never far to travel for your fix of Latin American inspired food and drink. Great atmosphere and a cracking happy hour you can’t go wrong. Caipirinha please barman.

Buffalo Bar is a well-loved haunt which offers live music and tasty cocktails. An award winning bar which is open till the early hours. You can while away the night sipping on a cocktail or twotry the signature Cherry Pie Martini. No baking skills required to taste this magnificent blend of vodka, cherry brandy, pomegranate and lemon juice with a hint of vanilla.

Soda is an independent bar and club, designed to meet the demand of a growing crowd of people who had become disenchanted by corporate chains. Stylish, intimate and a comfortable experience to hang out with friends whilst enjoying good music and good drinks. Soda also offer a cocktail masterclass where you can spend 90 minutes shaking and making some lip smacking cocktails with hosts who have the history, skills and tools of mixology.

Around the World Bar is located in the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex and is a quirky bar offering an impressive selection of 150 world beers. Most notably is the Krusovice which is piped straight into the bar and poured from a 5000 litre beer tank. There is also an extensive range of spirits is like no other and a cocktail menu featuring classics with a German twist – you won’t find many bars in Cardiff with such a diverse offering. You can even book in for a cocktail master-class!
