Crowned as Firestone UK Battle of the Bands 2017 Champions, Fire Fences are an energetic 4-piece band from South Wales and are proving to be one of Wales’ most promising and exciting young bands. Since entering the music world, Fire Fences have been making big waves on the indie-rock scene.
Dead Method are a group of 3 friends who like to make beautiful, messed up sounds together. Notable achievements include playing at Glastonbury 2016 (and being drowned out by Adele) and being one of 10 artists chosen by the Forte Project in 2018, an artist development scheme championing some of South Wales’ most promising artists. In September 2017 they released their debut EP and are currently working on their sophomore EP for a 2018 release.
Eclectic, groove driven, jazzy pop music from Cardiff. Every song of Grand Tradition’s 1st 5 track EP went on to be played by BBC introducing. Now they are gigging and playing festivals like Boomtown and Victorious while working on their new 5 track EP.
Merthyr Tydfil’s Upbeat Sneakers are an exuberant pop influenced outfit with sharp brass who are well known for their lively shows and festival sets. People want to dance, but to real songs from real musicians with real energy and Upbeat Sneakers have already started to prove to people that they can start a party.
Ell South is a Cardiff based indie pop singer-songwriter who’s been surrounded by music for as long as she can remember. During her time in university in Cardiff she’s finally decided to share her melodious and catchy pop songs with the world as she is releasing her first 5 track EP in early April 2018.
CVC are a six piece band specializing in tasty psych funk jams. They are well known in the Cardiff music scene and have been nominated for “best breakthrough act” at the Cardiff music awards. They have also built up a considerable relationship with Sofar Sounds Cardiff and are in talks to play gigs for them as far out as Italy.
The winner will receive rehearsal time at Musicbox Studios plus recording time with top producer Charlie Francis as well as further prizes to be announced.
