‘THIS WAY PLEASE’ is an interactive piece that relies on the viewer’s participation. It was conceived in response to an unsuccessful attempt to obtain tickets for the 2012 London Olympic Games and its construction references the utilitarian use of steel and wood at sports venues, in agriculture and public conveniences. A myriad of barriers and borders, some negotiable, others closed and frustrating, its underlying concept is re-charged by recent political events.

Angharad Pearce Jones lives and works in West Wales, specializing in large-scale, multi-media installations and sculpture. Her core technical expertise is in steel fabrication and construction. Many of her works to date are autobiographical and form satirical enquiries into social trends and changing gender roles both at home and in the workplace.
