The international smash hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert comes to Wales Millennium Centre between 7 and 18 January 2014 as part of its UK tour.

Based on the smash-hit movie, Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of.

With a dazzling array of outrageous costumes and a hit parade of dance floor favourites including ‘It’s Raining Men’, ‘Say a Little Prayer’, ‘Go West’, ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Always on My Mind’, this wildly fresh and funny new musical is a journey to the heart of fabulous.

Conrad Lynch, Artistic Director of Wales Millennium Centre said: “It’s great to have such a wonderfully colourful start to 2014 at the Centre with Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The show has had such success in the West End, Broadway and Australia; it’s terrific to be part of the UK tour.”

The cast includes Richard Grieve who will play Bernadette who has previously played the part of Tick in the West End production of the show. He is probably best known as Jonny Foster in “Emmerdale”. A native Australian, he played Sam Kratz in “Neighbours” and Dr Lachlan Frazer in “Home and Away”. His UK theatre credits include the national tour of “Footloose - The Musical” and “Bells Are Ringing” at the Unicorn Theatre. His theatre credits in Australia include Greg Connell in “The Boy from Oz” and “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”.

Graham Weaver will play Felicia, which he played in the West End production of the show. His other theatre credits include Mary Sunshine in “Chicago” and “Assassins”. Further casting to be announced.

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical originally opened in Australia in 2006 where it ran for two years before opening in the West End for a run of a further two years. The show recently played a hugely successful season on Broadway. Along the way, it has won numerous awards including the prestigious Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Costume Design.
Performances are Mon - Thu & Sat 7.30pm, Fri 5.30pm + 8.30pm, Sat 2.30pm

Tickets for Priscilla Queen of the Desert go on general sale on Friday 26 April 2013. Tickets range from £15 - £60. Age guidance 15+. Wales Millennium Centre Promise Members can access tickets from Monday 22 April 2013.
