Food & Drink Festival

Cardiff has some great food & drink festivals throughout the year, celebrating the best of Welsh and international flavours.

In July, the International Food & Drink Festival takes over Cardiff Bay, giving way to hundreds of stalls offering delicious food and drink to try and buy, from all over the world - and Wales. Highlights include Welsh cheeses, Norwegian smoked salmon, French wines and Persian snack foods.

Over the August bank holiday, the Cardiff Harbour Festival plays host to tall ships, watersports, and all things nautical. Last year it was also home to the Young's British Fish Craft Championships as well as a host of other fishy events. For those not so keen on fish, the Continental Market had foods from France, Germany and Italy.

In September, the Great British Cheese Festival makes its home in the grounds of Cardiff Castle. Hundreds of cheeses from all over the UK and Ireland, are available to taste and buy, as well as a range of talks, cookery lessons, and other Welsh produce stalls.

As well as all these, there is a wealth of smaller events and activities, based in restaurants, attractions and pubs and bars across the region. Click here for a full list of foodie events.
