Celtic Manor Resort

Cardiff, a designated European City of Sport for 2009, has notched up a fine reputation as a sporting capital thanks to hosting a variety of major events and facilities. The home of Welsh Rugby, Cardiff boasts the Millennium Stadium which plays host to the Six Nations and the Autumn International Series games.

As well as Rugby, Cardiff is home to football, cricket, golf and a range of water sports on Cardiff Bay. Cardiff International Sports Village is home to the International Swimming Pool, Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey Team and the new International White Water Centre, a world-class white water facility opening in April 2010.

As well as the more traditional sports, in the Cardiff region you can also try climbing, karting, paint-balling and mountain biking. For more gentle exercise there are organised walks or rowing on Roath Park lake. For a full list of Cardiff’s sporting events click here.
