While Christmas may come “but once a year”, we know we can always rely on it to arrive, sprinkling magic and sparkle when it arrives – at least for the little ones!
But opportunities, like the one offered by Queens Arcade and the Cardiff Blues, come along only once in a lifetime for one lucky performer or performing troupe! They have combined forces to showcase and celebrate the best of Cardiff’s talented singers, dancers and performers, sprinkling a little fairy dust of their own!
Launching today on line, on Facebook and on air with Red Dragon, the Xmas Factor is a celebration of music, dance and entertainment; the best that Cardiff has to offer.
There will be two live showcases at Queens Arcade on Saturday 27th November and Saturday 4th December to entertain and encourage would-be entrants to register for the live final to be held at the Centre on Friday 10th December between 4-8pm.
Performers are encouraged to upload a video of their act to register and will be contacted by the judges and asked to perform at the live final, for their chance to win the opportunity to perform in front of 20,000 at Cardiff City Stadium on New Year’s Eve – what a start for 2011! The closing date for entries is Wednesday 8th December.
Ceri Brockway, Queens Arcade Marketing Manager is excited at the prospect of seeing new talent perform at the Centre in the lead up to Christmas, “We are delighted to announce the launch of our huge Xmas Factor search for Cardiff’s latest Lloyd Daniels or Lucie Jones.
“Our New Year’s Eve game against the Ospreys is set to be the biggest game of the season yet, and we’re expecting a big crowd and a fantastic atmosphere here at Cardiff City Stadium. The match provides a great opportunity for an up and coming singer or dance troupe to showcase their talent at one of Wales’ biggest regional rugby games. Fans can buy tickets for the game now by visiting www.cardiffblues.com” said Tina Tew, Sales & Marketing Director Cardiff Blues.
"We are looking forward to the showcases on the mall on November 27th and December 4th and announcing some surprise guest stars that will perform at the final. We hope Cardiff’s unknown singers, dancers and performers are encouraged to register for the competition. Who knows what stars of the future we might uncover!”
