La dolce vita comes to Cardiff

Carluccio's

Visitors to the bustling restaurant quarter on Mill Lane within St David’s, can now sample genuine Italian food, with the arrival of Carluccio’s caffè restaurant, deli and foodshop.

The latest addition to Cardiff’s dining scene, Carluccio’s offers affordable Italian eating, drinking and shopping in welcoming surroundings, from delicious cooked breakfasts right through to three-course meals with wine. To celebrate their opening, Carluccio’s is hosting a series of events and customers can look forward to an exclusive cookery masterclass with chef Antonio Carluccio.
 

Caffé and Restaurant

The seasonally changing menu boasts an array of authentic Italian dishes and has something for everyone. Diners can look forward to light antipasti, salads, fresh handmade pasta dishes, heart-warming fish, meat and vegetarian mains, as well as decadent desserts.

Typical dishes on the tempting menu include insalata di mare, (Mediterranean prawns, squid rings and mussels in a light lemon oil and chilli dressing served on mixed leaves) and the classic tortelloni di cervo (handmade fresh tortelloni filled with wine braised venison), as well as delicious daily changing specials. The menu is complemented by a strong selection of Italian wines and two courses paired with a glass of something fruity will set you back as little as £15, offering excellent value for money.

With a striking wall mural depicting an Italian street scene and, diners will feel transported to a typical neighbourhood piazza caffè. On warmer spring days, you can dine alfresco on the heated outdoor terrace.

The Foodshop and Deli

From fabulous oils to pre-prepared pesto, squid ink pasta to dried porcini mushrooms, honey cantucci to cappuccino truffles, as well as delicious wines, look no further than Carluccio’s foodshop. The store, with its shelves stuffed with beautifully packaged specialist artisan products sourced from all over Italy, is the destination of choice for food lovers wanting to create an authentic Italian feast at home or looking for gifts for their fellow foodies.

Last but not least, visit the deli to choose from an enticing selection of fresh Italian produce including salami, cheese, olives and tarts as well as freshly made dishes to take away for lunch or supper.

Caffé Events

In celebration of the opening, Carluccio’s will host events in the restaurant and deli starting on the 14th April. Look forward to an afternoon cooking with celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio, a Tuscan wine dinner featuring the finest Italian wines, as well as pasta and risotto making classes.
