Hilton Cardiff ranked first for food

26th May 2010

Cardiff Hilton

Hilton Cardiff has been ranked as the number one hotel for food and beverage out of more than 80 Hilton Worldwide hotels across the country for the second year running. Following the repeat success in Hilton Worldwide’s internal scheme, Hilton Cardiff is challenging visitors to propose their own menu suggestions.

The upscale hotel serves contemporary and hand-crafted dishes to guests and visitors in its Razzi restaurant, the more informal Steam Bar and in the ballroom for weddings, conferences and functions.

Marie Fagan, general manager of Hilton Cardiff, said: “We have always been renowned for fantastic food and to be awarded this rating out of over 80 hotels in the UK is a testament to the hard work our chefs put into every dish.

“We are seeing an increase in visitors’ enthusiasm for Welsh food which is growing in reputation and embraced within the hotel. Our chefs are inspired by the Welsh food culture which is evident in our menu and the quality of our food. More than 75 percent of conference and banqueting customers book on repeat business.”

This is the second consecutive year that Hilton Cardiff has been ranked top for food and beverage in the Hilton’s UK estate, in a programme which rates quality, service and consistency. The hotel is now inviting visitors to suggest their own ideas for new dishes or food themes to carry out in the kitchen.

Marie Fagan continued: “Our chefs are always innovative when it comes to food. We run a different themed food week each month where we urge them to be as imaginative as possible. Our initiatives include seafood tasting for guests in the lobby and the 48 different desserts the pastry chefs make for Sunday lunch. If any of our guests have ideas for new dishes or themes that they would like to be put into action, we would love them to get in touch.”

To submit an idea, contact louisa.stride@hilton.com by June 31, 2010. The chosen idea will be created by the executive chef team in the Razzi kitchen.
