St David's To Host Exclusive Student Lock-In Event

28th September 2010

St David's is set to host a free after-hours student lock-in event with exclusive discounts to welcome the city’s students to Cardiff.

Held on Tuesday, October 5, the evening lock-in will see more than fifty stores opening late with exclusive one night only discounts on offer. Stores within St David’s will also be hosting entertainment along with competitions, makeovers, goody bags and food samples. Students will be given a special wristband to allow them entry into St David’s Student Lock In and gives them access to the offers on the night.

Brands offering exclusive discounts include Fenchurch, Cult, New Look, Republic, Luke, Ollie & Nic, Jack Jones, Vero Moda, Henleys, Pulp all offering 20 percent off products, Folli Follie will be offering 15 percent off. Fenchurch will also be hosting an in-store DJ while H&M will be offering a goody bag with every purchase. Competitions on the night include winning free chicken until May 2011 at Nandos.

Steven Madeley, centre director for St David’s, said: “Students are a key shopper group within Cardiff and with the new year starting, we wanted to welcome them to the city with an exclusive event. We think that the idea of having a lock-in is an exciting one that will really appeal to the students and will cater exclusively for their needs.

“Several of the stores within St David’s already provide a draw to the students and by holding a bespoke event with bigger and better student discounts than usual, we are sure it will be a success.

“The lock-in event is open to all students regardless of which university they attend, you just have to turn up on the night with a valid student ID.”

The student lock-in will be held at St David’s Cardiff on Tuesday, October 5, from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. Students will be asked to register on The Hayes, outside Crabtree and Evelyn, by showing a valid student ID card.  Upon registration students will be directed throughout the centre and to participating stores.
