Sherman re-opening programme announced

The Sherman Theatre reopens in the New year, with a programme of work in its newly redeveloped theatre building. Ticket booking for priority bookers is now open, with general ticket booking opening on 28 November.
After an Open House weekend on 4-5 February, the first production in the building from 7-11 February will be Sgint by Bethan Marlow, a Welsh language co-production between Sherman Cymru and Theatr Genedlaelthol Cymru.
From 15-18 February, Sian Phillips performs in Frantic Assembly’s Lovesong, a beautiful, haunting play about lifelong love by Cardiff-born Abi Morgan, whose writing for the screen includes the flagship BBC TV drama The Hour.
Dirty Protest co-founder Tim Price returns to Cardiff with his darkly comic new play For Once, presented by Pentabus Theatre from 23 February – 3 March.
Award winning children’s theatre company Catherine Wheels present their Edinburgh Festival Fringe hit White from 17-21 April, a playful and highly visual show that is a perfect first time theatre experience.
Clytemnestra, written by the First National Poet of Wales Gwyneth Lewis and produced by Sherman Cymru, runs from 18 April – 5 May and is a major new telling of an epic Greek legend driven by adultery, power and revenge.
From 15-16 May, internationally acclaimed choreographer Hofesh Shechter returns to Sherman Cymru with Political Mother, his extraordinary dance work with 10 dancers, multiple musicians and the atmosphere of a rock concert.
The season, which totals over 30 different productions in all, also includes Cerys Matthews, National Theatre Wales, Belarus Free Theatre, Grid Iron and Matthew Bourne.
