Treat your Mum at the Hilton

The Hilton Cardiff has found the perfect way to treat your mum this Mothering Sunday with a touch of luxury. The city hotel has launched a new special afternoon tea just for Mother’s Day which includes decadent cakes and pastries served with pink Champagne in the new Metropole Lounge.

The afternoon tea is served with a platter of classic finger sandwiches which includes smoked salmon, egg and cress, Welsh Cheddar with tomato, traditional cucumber and smoked ham with a touch of mustard.

Meanwhile, a tiered cake stand offers a selection of Mother’s Day themed cakes from a flower-shaped Welsh cake to a warm fruit scone with vanilla cream and strawberry jam. The pastries also include a dress-shaped biscuit, banoffee opera, Merlyn and hazelnut truffle, lemon drizzle cake, decorated cup cake and a Champagne and strawberry chocolate cup. The afternoon tea is completed by a range of Twining teas from across the world or – for that final touch – a glass of pink Champagne.

The Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea is served in the Hilton Cardiff’s newest addition; the Metropole Lounge. The venue is the perfect setting to eat, treat and entertain at any time of day with feature lighting and chairs and table service.

For those wanting something more, Hilton Cardiff is also offering a three-course Mother’s Day lunch in the Razzi restaurant with all the trimmings and a free gift for mum.

Marie Fagan, general manager of Hilton Cardiff, said: “On Mother’s Day, everyone is looking for something extra special to treat their mums and the two packages at the Hilton Cardiff provide just that. The themed afternoon tea is informal and delicious and promises to be a delightful way to spend the afternoon with our pastry chefs creating new biscuits, cakes and pastries especially for the occasion. Meanwhile, our traditional lunch in Razzi is always popular as visitors seek to give mum a day off and enjoy fresh and appetising dinner.”

Prices for the Mother’s Day Afternoon tea are just £13.50 per person or £19.95 with pink Champagne. The Mother’s Day lunch on Sunday, April 3, in Razzi is £36 per person or only £17.50 per child under the age of 12.
