Chapter celebrates 40 years

Chapter, Cardiff’s arts centre, marks its 40th birthday this weekend with the first events in a year-long celebration.

The festivities kick off with an action packed weekend of art, entertainment and good times, including a children’s street party, live music and cabaret performances, a 70s disco and special birthday versions of your favourite Chapter events.

On Friday and Saturday, Chapter turns the clock back with a menu of 1970s dishes. As they describe it: “The time that taste forgot? Or the halcyon days of hearty cuisine?” Try it for yourself between 5pm and 9pm. On Sunday, the barbeque will be out between 12 noon and 5pm.

During the coming 12 months Chapter will have a series of special events to celebrate 40 years at the forefront of the European cultural scene; 40 years of creating and presenting ground-breaking, internationally acclaimed work in cinema, theatre and the visual arts; 40 years as a cultural hub, a meeting place of ideas, a safe and open space for creative minds.
