Stop Snapping! ‘The Bay Picture’ is revealed

Judges from the Waterfront Partners have searched through hundreds of photographs to choose the winning entry for the inaugural Cardiff Bay photography competition. Budding photographers aged 16 and over were invited to submit their digital entries to show their interpretation of why Cardiff Bay is a great place to live and visit.

The winning photograph, of the Wales Millennium Centre at night by John Richards, will now be used on the official 2011 Visit Cardiff Bay leaflet; available in the Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre.

Also the photograph will be exhibited with the two runners up in the Dahl Gallery, located on the first floor of the newly refurbished Norwegian Church Arts Centre, when it opens in May.  Plus the winner has won an overnight stay at St David’s Hotel and Spa on the Cardiff Bay waterfront.

Also with thanks to Ffotogallery, the national development agency for photography in Wales, the winners will receive a range of photography books. Ffotogallery have fully supported the competition in the hope that it will encourage people to take up photography.
