Hilton Cardiff's royal treat for royal wedding

The Hilton Cardiff is celebrating the Royal Wedding in style by creating a quirky new afternoon tea. The Royal Afternoon Tea has been prepared by dessert chefs at the top city hotel and provides a luxury alternative to street party fare.

Visitors to the Hilton's Metropole Lounge can indulge in a miniature wedding cake, individual English trifles and Great Britain themed cupcakes complete with British flags. The afternoon tea also comes with strawberries decorated with chocolate to resemble a tuxedo and wedding dress along with personalised heart shaped shortbread biscuits dedicated to William and Catherine. 

The treats continue with fruit scones served with jam, a pastry tart filled with blueberries and raspberries, a Champagne and strawberry jelly and a white chocolate and strawberry filled cream cup.

The range of themed cakes is alongside the miniature sandwiches with traditional fillings of ham, cheese and tomato, smoked salmon, egg mayonnaise and cucumber. Diners can choose a range of Twinings tea to accompany the Royal Afternoon Tea or a glass of pink Champagne. 

The Royal Afternoon Tea is available at the Metropole within the Hilton Cardiff from Tuesday April 26 to Friday April 29 priced £19.95 with Champagne or £14.95 with tea. On the day of the Royal Wedding, Hilton Cardiff will be screening the event live within the Metropole Lounge.
