Hear countless stories of a town long gone and see the clues that remain

Not much remains of the ancient past of this most modern and vibrant of cities. Not much on the surface that is! However, on an hour long walk at a gentle pace through the heart of this most compact of city centres you can hear countless stories of a town long gone and see the clues that remain. Gang warfare between powerful families on the Tudor streets, pirates seeking haven and sheltered by nobles, statesmen holding the highest office in the land, and poor folk who worked hard but paid a heavy price for minor crimes.

On your guided walk you will also:

  • Hear about how little the Medieval street layout has changed, and hear about life in Cardiff in centuries past;
  • Hear about life for ordinary people in Cardiff in good times and bad times over the centuries.
  • Bear witness to Cardiff’s dramatic transformation through the industrial revolution, ending at its most modern public building, the stunning Central Library building.
