Fonmon Castle, built in 1180, is one of the few medieval castles which are still lived in as a home.
Situated in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan, Fonmon combines centuries of history with convenience and accessibility. Just 25 minutes from Cardiff and the M4, it can be enjoyed alone or as part of a day out on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast.
Exit junction 33 of the M4, onto the A4232 and A4050 (signposted Barry). Follow signs for Cardiff Airport A4226 and Llantwit Major B4265. Do not take first left (signposted Fonmon) but continue under bridge for 1 mile and take left turn signposted Rhoose and East Aberthaw. Continue up hill and before works traffic lights take left turn into Castle Road. The entrance to the castle is approximately 1/2 mile on the left.
