What's New at St David's Dewi Sant

St David’s, Cardiff, is more than just a 1.4 million sq. ft retail and leisure destination, it is the beating heart of the city and plays a central role within the community.

One of the leading retail destinations in the UK, St David’s covers one third of the Welsh capital’s centre, ensuring the city continues to build its reputation as one of the UK’s economic hotspots. With its connected business community, international sports venues, cutting-edge media and fast-growing population, Cardiff has a bright future ahead. St David’s is a big part of that future.

Over the past 12-months, St David’s has celebrated more than 68,000 sq. ft of new openings, refurbishments and upsizes including national debuts for several global names, led by  a 36,500 sq. ft regional flagship for fashion giant ZARA alongside international cosmetic leader Morphe, and Sky – launching its debut bricks and mortar store in Wales.

Both L’Occitane and The Body Shop unveiled refurbished stores and following the opening of Swiss luxury technical watch brand Breitling, family-run jewellers’ Laings added to the luxury offer. They made a £3m investment in the existing boutique, trebling in size and introducing Patek Philippe and Rolex brands to the    St David’s guest for the first time this Spring.

“WE KNEW THAT WE WANTED ST DAVID’S TO PLAY AN INTEGRAL PART IN OUR EXTENSIVE NATIONAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMME, AND THE EXPANSION OF OUR CARDIFF SHOWROOM HAS ALLOWED US TO CREATE A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR OUR CLIENTS, CENTERED AROUND THE EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE LAINGS IS KNOWN FOR.”

Other recent premium fashion and lifestyle openings include Hobbs and another regional debut for lifestyle brand Rituals.

Restaurants and dining at St David’s and Cardiff have also seen considerable growth with brands launching and investing in the destination including authentic Thai specialists, Giggling Squid, set to open its first Welsh restaurant and the expansion of the Ivy group to include a new fusion concept, Ivy Asia – both are set to launch later this year.

“I LOVE CARDIFF, IT’S AN AMAZING PLACE, GREAT SHOPPING, A COOL ENTERTAINMENT SCENE AND LOADS OF GREAT RESTAURANTS. WE ARE OPENING IN A FANTASTIC SPACE ON THE HAYES FOR OUR WELSH DEBUT AND ARE EXCITED TO INTRODUCE OUR FRESH AND FLAVOURFUL THAI MENU TO THE FOODIES OF CARDIFF AND ST DAVID’S VISITORS.”
