Students satisfied with UWIC
1st September 2010
UWIC leapt up the table of how universities were ranked by its students in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2010 and is the top new university in Wales when it comes to student satisfaction.
The annual survey questions students from every university in the UK, garnering feedback in areas such as teaching; assessment and feedback; academic support; organisation and management; learning resources and personal development.
UWIC’s strong performance this year saw the university having the fastest rate of growth in Wales against overall satisfaction scores; a reflection of its commitment to offering the best student experience possible.
Claire-Louise Rafferty, President of UWIC’s Student Union, said: “The excellent NSS results are a reflection of the university and the Students Union's commitment to providing our students with the highest levels of academic and student experience. The support and constructive relationship we have with the individual Academic Schools and the university senior management has ensured that our representation structures, along with the work of our School Representatives, have contributed in achieving these results."
UWIC’s Director of Marketing and Communications Richard Moremon said: “Student satisfaction ratings at UWIC has improved with 82 percent of students agreeing or strongly agreeing that overall, they were satisfied with the quality of their course. UWIC remains committed to providing high-quality, academic learning in a research engaged environment and these results reflect the hard work of all our staff to put students at the heart of the university learning experience.”
