Summer fun and entertainment in Cardiff Bay

There’s plenty in store for visitors to Cardiff Bay over the holidays, with big events, activities on the water and attractions around the waterfront to entertain the whole family.
Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre at Wales Millennium Centre, makes the ideal place to start a holiday visit and has full details about all the Cardiff Bay summer evnts.
These include:
August Bank Holiday weekend 27th to 29th – the biggest event on the horizon, serving up an annual portion of Fish and Ships to amuse and entertain, with Tall Ships, sea shanty singers, comedy walkabouts and love music. Features to watch out for are:
British Fish Craft Championships on the Sunday as the country’s top fishmongers try to out-fillet each other. Breitling Wing Walkers flying high over Cardiff Bay on Sunday at 12pm and Monday at 4.30pm. The Last Resort - an alternate end of pier attraction, including the Best Dressed Pirate and Sea Creature Competition at 3.30pm on Monday afternoon.
Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre Summer School. Learn to row this summer at CBWAC with four consecutive half day sessions, morning or afternoon available from £60 for those aged 11 and over. Call for information on 029 20 353912

Trips to Flat Holm Island
Departing from the Bay, day trips are run throughout the summer until October to this site, renowned for its history and environment. Adult and Family Conservation weekends in July and August offer a unique island experience. 029 2087 7912 com
Cardiff International Paddlefest September 3rd
This one day event is held at Cardiff International White Water, winner of Best Visitor Experience in Wales. Located at International Sports Village, this day is free to spectators, and offers loads of opportunities to try out the various water –based activities. 029 20829970
