Three great shows go on sale at the New Theatre

21st July 2011

Horrible Histories

The New Theatre is excited to announce three new shows on sale this week - Horrible Histories, Basket Case and Birds of a Feather.

Joining the already packed autumn season is the return of the hugely popular Horrible Histories from Tuesday 15 – Saturday 19 November.  This time it’s the turn of the The Ruthless Romans and The Awful Egyptians as historical figures come to life on stage with the help of groundbreaking Bogglevision 3D special effects and actors.  From the fascinating Pharaohs to the evil Emperors, young theatregoers will have history at their fingertips in this spectacular show adapted from Terry Deary’s best selling Horrible Histories books.

From Monday 21 – Saturday 26 November Nigel Havers returns to Cardiff in Basket Case, a quick-witted comedy drama also starring Christine Kavanagh, David Cardy and Graham Seed, who makes his first stage appearance after his untimely death as Nigel Pargetter in The Archers.

Dependable Miranda and her ex-husband, the smoothly charming and wholly unreliable Guy are thrown together in distressing circumstances when their faithful old family pet takes a turn for the worse. Reunited over the dog basket, Guy and Miranda find they haven’t ‘moved on’ quite as they’d imagined.

A real treat for 2012 arrives in the form of Sharon, Tracy and Dorien when the original cast of the hit TV sitcom Birds of a Feather comes to the New Theatre from Tuesday 6 – Saturday 10 March.  Linda Robson, Pauline Quirke and Lesley Joseph reprise their roles as the sisters and their sex-mad neighbour in this stage adaptation of the much loved classic comedy. Visiting Cardiff as part of a limited UK tour, this is a must see for fans of this hit show.
