Cheer on the Bluebirds in the city centre

Cardiff City head to Wembley this weekend to be the first ever Welsh football team to play in the Carling Cup final.

With more than 30,000 Cardiff fans travelling to Wembley, those not lucky enough to get a ticket can still enjoy all the atmosphere of the big game by joining supporters to watch the Bluebirds take on Liverpool on a giant screen in Windsor Place.

Cardiff Council has joined forces with BBC Wales to put up a big screen in Windsor Place, from 2pm on Sunday, when Bluebird fans can enjoy all the build up to this sellout cup final in the heart of the city centre on the offical Cardiff City Supporters Screen. 

Fans will be able to savour the occasion at Windsor Place with free admission on a first come first served basis from 2pm until 6.30pm

For licensing reasons no-one will be allowed to take alcohol onto the site but local bars at Windsor Place will be serving alcohol.

A Cardiff City spokesman said: "Cardiff City's appearance in the Carling Cup final is another historic day for the football club and with so many wanting to be there to support the team, demand for tickets has far outstripped supply. As with our previous appearances at Wembley, the giant screen is a great way for non-travelling Bluebirds fans to enjoy the game together. There'll be a great atmosphere at the location in Windsor Place and it promises to be a momentous occasion for both the club and Wales' capital city."
