Each year over 25,000 students choose to come to Cardiff and Vale College, one of the largest and most exciting Further Education Colleges in Wales, providing excellent education and training for people of all ages.
The College, with a turnover of £40 million pounds, has specialist training facilities across 11 sites, in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
Cardiff and Vale College has a vast range of specialist teaching facilities, developed for industry. From construction and engineering workshops, to arts and performance studios. From hairdressing and beauty academies, to IT training suites. From professional kitchens and restaurants to science labs. The facilities support the College in providing an inspirational learning experience.
Around 1,000 staff of industry experts and subject specialists offer an immense range of more than 1,000 courses, including academic and vocational courses as well as English as a foreign language.
The 1,000 courses offered range from entry level to higher education level, in subjects including: A Levels and GCSEs, Accountancy, Administration, Aeronautical Engineering, Art and Design, Automotive, Beauty and Complementary Therapies, Brickwork, Business and Management, Carpentry, Care, Childcare, Counselling, Electrical Installation, Engineering, Hairdressing, Hospitality and Catering, IT, Languages, Law, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Public Services, Sport and Fitness, Travel and Tourism and more.
Cardiff and Vale College’s English courses have been accredited by the British Council since 2001. The most recent inspection awarded points of excellence for academic resources, academic management, teaching and pastoral care.
Hundreds of students join the College from over 50 different countries through the dedicated International Office team, which offers advice and guidance on all matters, including accommodation and welfare.
Many of the international students study at two sites in Cardiff city centre, five minutes walk from the main shopping centre and Queen Street train station, or at the Trowbridge site, a self-contained campus 20 minutes bus ride from the city centre. ICAT, the specialist training facility where Aerospace students will study, is right next to Cardiff International Airport.
