Cardiff International White Water
Cardiff's new Olympic-standard Canoe Slalom Centre, Cardiff International White Water, opened in March 2010. The course pumps out 16 cubic metres of water every second, offering ‘bite-the-back-of-your-hand' excitement to thrill-seekers. Offering white-water rafting and canoeing opportunities to over 50,000 annual visitors, the centre is run by Cardiff Harbour Authority. Find out more here.
Cardiff Bay
Thanks to the Cardiff Bay Barrage an area of tidal mudflats became the 500-acre freshwater lake of Cardiff Bay. The Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre is ideally situated in a purpose built facility in South Cardiff, on the edge of the River Taff. With the dedicated slipway and pontoons the water is a stones throw from the facility. From here they also have excellent links to the Taff Trail and the rest of Cardiff Bay, as well as sailing, rowing and canoeing.
Swimming
For those up for a dip but prefer to stay indoors, Cardiff International Pool is located in the International Sports Village, Cardiff Bay. Here you'll find flumes, space bowl, lazy river and bubble lounger in addition to the international standard Olympic-size pool. Find out more here.
