AN EVENTFUL YEAR: THE TOP EVENTS COMING TO CARDIFF IN 2022

1. Stereophonics + Tom Jones + Catfish and the Bottlemen

Principality Stadium | 17 June 2022 – 18 June 2022

One of Britain’s best live bands, Stereophonics has announced a return to Wales for a very special show “We’ll Keep A Welcome” – the multi-platinum four piece will be headlining Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and joined by very special guests, Tom Jones and Catfish and The Bottlemen.

 

2. Inside Out Festival

Bute Park | 1 May 2022

We love partying with you in Bute Park, however we’ve had enough of the rain. So we’ve made the decision that the festival will now be on Bank Holiday Sunday 1st May. Same amazing venue, same amazing festival, same mad vibes. Swap your wellies for your dancing daps, your coats for your vests and your sweaters for your sunnies.

 

3. Ed Sheeran

Principality Stadium | 26 May 2022 – 27 May 2022

Ed Sheeran returns to Principality Stadium for two nights as part of his + – = Ă· x tour. Kicking off in April next year, the tour will see Ed play shows across the UK, Ireland, Central Europe and Scandinavia, and will see him return to Principality Stadium following his record breaking, ‘Divide tour’ in 2018 which saw Ed play a four nights at the stadium to a total of 240,000 fans.

 

4. Lionel Richie

Cardiff Castle | 2 June 2022

International superstar Lionel Richie has a discography of albums and singles that are second to none. His music is part of the fabric of pop music, in fact, Richie is one of only two songwriters in history to achieve the honour of having number one records for nine consecutive years. Lionel Richie’s Hello Tour involves a selection of well-known outdoor UK venues, including our own Cardiff Castle.

5. Depot in the Castle with Rag’n’Bone Man

Cardiff Castle | 9 July 2022 – 10 July 2022

Rory Charles Graham, better known as Rag’n’Bone Man, will headline a Saturday night set at Cardiff Castle next summer. A sell-out Saturday night at DEPOT in the Castle is always followed by a full day of family-friendly fun on the Sunday, making for an epic weekend of good music, good food & good times.

 

6. IT20 Cricket – England v South Africa

Glamorgan Cricket Ground, Sophia Gardens | 28 July 2022

Secure your seat at Sophia Gardens next summer for an epic IT20 clash between England & South Africa on Thursday, 28th July 2022. England are undefeated in IT20 matches at Sophia Gardens, winning all eight of their previous games at the venue. They last played South Africa in an IT20 in Cardiff in 2017 where they defeated the visitors by 19-runs in front of a raucous sell-out crowd.

 

7. CityJam Tribute Festival

Cardiff Castle | 30 April 2022 – 1 May 2022

Cardiff’s first live tribute act festival! It’s 2 jam packed full days of being entertained to the max by some of the best live tribute acts in the UK. 8. Jess Glynne

Cardiff Castle | 11 June 2022

One of the UK’s hottest artists, Jess Glynne, will bring her vibrant brand of pop music to Cardiff’s most historic and stunning outdoor concert site adding to the long list of shows successfully staged there in recent years.

 

9. Diana Ross

Cardiff Castle | 10 June 2022

One of the most successful recording artists and entertainers of all time, Diana Ross has shaped the sound of popular music. In the 1960s she reigned as the Queen of Motown, leading The Supremes to chart dominance with hits such as Baby Love, Stop! In the Name of Love, and You Keep Me Hangin’ On. Global superstar Diana Ross has added a date at the historic Cardiff Castle to her Thank You Summer 2022 tour on Friday 10th June 2022.
