Six Nations Rugby in Cardiff: Matchday Drink Destinations

It’s that time again, where our national sport unites the nation, with one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year returning to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. So, whether you’re a die-hard rugby fan or just looking to enjoy a night out with friends, there are plenty of pubs and bars in Cardiff city centre to watch the Six Nations matches and soak up the atmosphere.

All within walking distance of the stadium for those with tickets, and with gigantic screens to catch every second of the action.

Watching Wales v Ireland? Have a look where you can get a pint of Guinness. Look out for the Shamrock. ☘️

 

ARMS PARK FANZONE ☘️

Cardiff Arms Park are hosting their Guinness Fanzone for the home matches against Ireland (Sat 4th Feb) and England (Sat 25th Feb), accessible from their entrance next to Gate 2 of the Principality Stadium (Westgate Street). There’s free entry into a fantastic setting to soak up the matchday experience, with food, drink and live acoustic sets before and after the match.

 

O’NEILLS & LITTLE O’NEILLS ☘️

Cardiff’s resident Irish bar on Saint Mary Street has built up a reputation as a place to watch live sports and generally have a great time with friends. Welcome back their smaller brother, who has returned home to Trinity Street as Little O’Neill’s, after a stint as the Old Market Tavern.

 

THE PHILHARMONIC ☘️

One of Cardiff’s biggest venues is showing all the Wales games on large screens across different floors, so join in the action and pre-book your space to watch at the Philly.

 

PROUD MARY’S 

The new girl in town, party bar Proud Mary’s have opened up in the heart of the Welsh capital, after building a solid party reputation across Scandinavia. Watch the game here and soak up the atmosphere.

Across the road from the Philharmonic, you can catch all the world cup matches at the Brewhouse, this large and lively pub is a perfect place to watch the game with other fans.

A short stroll from the city centre, the Pontcanna Inn promises great food, plentiful drinks, and a great spot to watch all the best action of the World Cup.

Retro arcade bar, Kongs is playing host to games of a different kind by showing the Wales matches on big screens across its bar and serving up West Pizza by the slice.

One of the larger pubs in the city centre, Owain is showing the matches on large screens across the venue.

At the centre of Greyfriars Road, Yates is proudly showing all the games on their fifteen 4K televisions and four large projectors, so you won’t miss a moment of the action.
