Festival of Light and Friendship

Sunday, 1 December
12:00 – 17:30
FREE Event

Come to the Norwegian Church this December and help to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this beloved Cardiff Bay landmark and the city’s special connection with our Scandinavian cousins. A whole afternoon of festively themed fun will culminate in a magical Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a new living Christmas tree has been gifted by Hordaland Fylkeskommune and will be planted outside the Church.

Roald Dahl inspired storytelling, musical performances, Scandi crafting and lantern making will be taking place through the afternoon. Refreshments will be available from the café with a special Norwegian themed menu, including waffles, being served from midday. As the evening draws in, wrap up warm for the Santa Lucia candle procession and Christmas sermon, before the tree is lit and carols are played by the Salvation Army Band. This is sure to be a festive favourite! See event highlights and times below…
