Cardiff Castle – Santa’s Victorian Christmas

14 November – 23 December 

Come to Cardiff Castle this Christmas and enjoy a candlelit evening of festive family fun, all in the beautiful setting of the traditionally decorated Victorian apartments. Be greeted by costumed characters and have your photo taken by the tree in the Entrance Hall. Follow the Candy Cane Trail through the Castle to the Drawing Room, where a wonderful visit with Santa Claus awaits. Gifts will be given and warming winter treats served in the Library.

Santa’s Grotto, Queen Street

14 November – 24 December 

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and visit Santa right in the city centre! Housed in a traditional wooden chalet, dressed perfectly for the festive season, children can meet Santa and his elves and receive a gift! No booking is required.

Principality Stadium

4 – 24 December 

Looks like Santa might be a rugby fan as he’s dropping into the Principality Stadium this December. Go behind the scenes of this iconic venue, taking in all the highlights of a classic stadium tour, before visiting the enchanting grotto and meeting Santa himself!

St Fagans – Father Christmas and Friends

Visitors to St Fagans National Museum of History can expect a festive treat this December.

Father Christmas will be making a special appearance and will be bringing some of his good friends along. There’ll be an opportunity to meet him in Cilewent Farmhouse before visiting Mother Christmas in her kitchen at Llwyn yr Eos. The elves will on hand to help you write your Christmas letters in the school before posting them in Wales’s smallest Post Office. You can also help the elves make some Christmas decorations in their workshop. (Advanced tickets only.)

Royal Mint Experience – World Snowball Fight Championships

23 November – 22 December Weekends plus Monday 23rd December 

For an active Christmas treat, how about the World Snowball Fight Championships at The Royal Mint Experience? Train with Elfie and then take part in the annual competition between Mistletoe United and North Pole Town! Santa will be there to officiate the contest, and all children will meet the big man himself and receive a special gift.

The Royal Mint Experience is also offering the more sedate option of Breakfast with Santa. Head for their alpine retreat this festive season for a warming breakfast with the big guy himself! Arts, crafts, fun and games will be available for everyone. Each child will get to meet Santa and take away a special gift.

Rhondda Heritage Park

23 November – 24 December 

Santa’s Toy Mine makes a welcome return to the Welsh Mining Experience at the Rhondda Heritage Park, bringing Christmas cheer by the sled load!

The unique and magical journey begins underground as you make your way through Santa’s Toy Mine, past the sweet mine, into the ice cave and surface right at Santa’s front door. But is he home?

You will be part of a group of festive fun seekers who will travel into the beautifully-decorated mine but each child will have a turn to speak with Father Christmas, share their festive wishes and receive an age-appropriate gift.

Additional activities are available including teddy bear workshops, craft workshops and chocolate-making workshops. There’s also a Christmas Craft Market and late evening tours on selected dates.

Future Inn – Sunday Lunch with Santa

On Sunday 8th December you can enjoy a special 3-course festive lunch with the family, served carvery style from 12pm and followed by freshly brewed tea and coffee. The resident party DJ will entertain the whole family with a disco and there’s a chance to meet and greet Santa in his grotto.
