You’ll have fun finding answers to clues which tell you more about the diverse culture, significant people & extraordinary events which have influenced Cardiff in becoming what it is today.
Walk 1: Principality Stadium to Bute Park – 1.25 miles / 2kms
From the world-renowned Principality Stadium, you explore the heart of the city, with its interesting shops and characterful buildings. Visit some of Cardiff’s unique arcades, and ots fabulous covered market. From the medieval church of St John’s you head on to Cardiff Castle – one of Wales’ leading heritage attractions – before ending your first walk in the delightful Bute Park, bordered by the River Taff.
Walk 2 – Bute Park to Cardiff University – 1 mile, 1.6 kms
From Bute Park this walk shows you another side to Cardiff Cstle, before passing some impressive and colourful buildings, including the County Court, City Hall and the National Museum of Wales. Stroll through the Gardens which hosted an Eisteddfod, and walk along a road lined by academic buildings, before entering Alexandra Gardens which sit squarely before the splendour of Cardiff’s eminent University.
