Nick Treharne: Portrait of Wales
Event Info
The Senedd in partnership with the National Library of Wales is proud to host this exhibition of images by photographer Nick Treharne as part of a project to document contemporary Wales.
Since 2018, Nickās vision has been to build a comprehensive portfolio of life in Wales. Much of his work is observational as he seeks out engaging moments in the streets, the countryside and the many events that take place during each year.
From events and traditions that are an integral part of Welsh life, to portraits of the inspirational and interesting characters he meets on his journey, this ālover of the split secondā transforms ordinary everyday subjects into something extraordinary.
The National Library of Wales has recently contributed Nickās images to the Peopleās Collection Wales, a free website dedicated to bringing together Wales’s heritage.
The National Library of Wales houses almost 1 million photographs connected to Wales. These range from works by pioneering photographers from the earliest days of photography to portfolios by contemporary practitioners of the art.
