Do you want to have your say with the new bus strategy?

The Council has recently launched a bus strategy consultation to gather the public’s views on how bus services can be improved across Cardiff. Anyone wanting to take part in the survey can do so here.

Terms & Conditions
  • Face coverings must be worn on board bus services (unless exempt).  Bus Operators and passengers need to follow the COVID19 guidance on the Welsh Government and Traveline Cymru websites:

https://gov.wales/coronavirus

https://www.traveline.cymru/bus-rail-coronavirus-travel-guidance/

  • For all participating Bus Operators, any single fare bought on bus for travel wholly within the Cardiff Council area as part of the Bus Promotion Scheme from 09.30 on the days Monday to Friday when the scheme is operating will cost £1.  The Bus Promotion Scheme is available to passengers of any age.  The offer will be available from Friday 3rd December to Thursday 16th December 2021.
  • The £1 off peak bus fare is for a single fare only.  If a customer needs to interchange between different bus services or providers to get to their destination, then they would need to pay £1 to the bus operators for each stage of their journey.
  • The scheme does not apply to already discounted tickets or to multiple journey tickets and season tickets or any other promotional fares.  Dedicated Park and Ride bus services are excluded from the Bus Promotion Scheme.
  • Tickets bought using the My Travel Pass will not be further discounted, and will be priced at two thirds or less of the usual adult fare as generally charged by individual operators.  Holders of My Travel Pass can choose not to use it and instead pay the £1 single fare as part of the Bus Promotion Scheme on participating bus services.
  • All Wales Concessionary Pass holders will continue to have free travel at all times.
  • The offer is only valid on the bus services for the following Bus Operators participating in the Bus Promotion Scheme: Cardiff Bus, Stagecoach, Adventure Travel, Edwards Coaches, First Cymru
