School’s out for the Half Term so Visit Cardiff have put together a guide of 10 exciting things to do to enjoy as a family. Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! Orbit Theatre Wales’ leading amateur company presents School of Rock summer half term 2023.

The story follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of ‘straight A’ pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?

3. ENJOY HALF TERM FUN AT CARDIFF CASTLE

Entertain the family and enjoy the immersive family attraction, ‘Black Tower Tales’ that brings a turbulent period of Welsh history to life, where you will discover the story of Local Welsh hero Llywelyn Bren’s medieval struggle against the oppressive Sherriff of Glamorgan.

4. EXPERIENCE MAGIC & MAYHEM AT FONMON CASTLE

Magic & Mayhem Weekend 2023 27th May – 29th May Witness the Awe of the Magician’s Realm at the ‘Magic and May-Hem’ Event.
Travel with your little ones to find the three Wizards and their Assistants who are spread across our estate. Watch the Magic, Solve the Quest and discover the secret word. With a Magician on site to enthral your little ones – complete the Word Quest and win a candy gift!

5. WORK AS A TEAM AT ESCAPE ROOMS CARDIFF

Come and see for yourself why Escape Rooms Cardiff is so much fun!

Choose your team of 2-6 players (per room). Select your theme from our 6 immersive game rooms. You’ll be given an objective and you’ll need to find objects, codes and clues in the rooms. 6. JOIN TECHNIQUEST: BLAST OFF!

7. DIVE INTO FAMILY FUN AT THE RED DRAGON CENTRE

Dive into family fun at The Red Dragon Centre on Bank Holiday Monday 29th May.

To celebrate the release of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” we’ll be making a splash inside the Centre with our free eco-friendly drop-in activities. Between 12-4pm, little ones can contribute to the creation of an upcycled Mermaid sculpture, make a marine craft to take home, and meet the team from The Wildlife Trust to learn more about how we can keep our seas safe from pollution.

8. GO ON A CARDIFF QUEST

10. VISIT ST FAGAN’S NATIONAL MUSEUM OF HISTORY

St Fagans National Museum of History has been Wales’s most popular heritage attraction for many years. This museum holds a special place in the hearts of the people of Wales because it is a people’s museum, where you can explore history together through people’s everyday lives.
