Providing hostel style accommodation within the Wales Millennium Centre
The Urdd City Sleepover provides hostel style accommodation and conference facilities within the fantastic Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
The Centre has been purpose build with young people’s security and safety as a priority and can accommodate up to 150 guests in private en-suite bedrooms. There is a communal lounge/games room for relaxing, or you can hire one of our training rooms which has free internet access, digitial projector and interactive white board if your visit is more educational. We are also an ideal venue for holding orchestral or choral residentials – our large hall has fantastic acoustics and is suitable for up to 100 people.
The Urdd National Eisteddfod is coming to Cardiff Bay
One of Europe’s largest annual touring youth festivals, the Urdd National Eisteddfod, is visiting Cardiff Bay during May half-term.
There’s so much for the whole family to discover during a visit to the festival, from performances in the Pavilion to sports sessions, live music, colourful stalls and much more! Come and enjoy our unique Welsh festival – we’d love to have you!
And this year, for the first time, there will be free entry for everyone to enjoy the Eisteddfod ‘Maes’ (festival site)! Adults will need to purchase daily wristbands for entry to all competition venues (including the the main stage at the Donald Gordon Theatre). But all competitors and under-18s will enjoy free entry:
Adult wristbands: £13 (the price will increase after 30 April)

Leave the M4 at Junction 33 (signposted Cardiff West, Barry, Penarth Cardiff Airport & A4232). Join the A4232 and continue for 9.3 miles. Leave the A4232 just before the Butetown Tunnel and follow signs for Techniquest. Continue along Stuart Street and turn right at the traffic lights onto Bute Place. The road bends to the left, take the first exit to the right (around Craft in the Bay), follow this road around to the left back onto Bute Place. The Gwersyll is opposite the Senedd.
Bus Numbers 6, 8 and 35 serve Cardiff Bay – all services originate at Cardiff Central Bus Station. Cardiff Bay Rail Station is served by trains from Cardiff Queen Street Station every 15 minutes – Platform 3.
