Tuesday, 21 April 2026
Cardiff Children’s Literature Festival this April is the family friendly day out you are looking for!
What date is the festival and who is it for?
The festival is made up of 25 events across Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April. Each event is categorised for different age groups – ranging from 3+ to 9+ so you are sure to find something suitable to enjoy.
Where are the festival events being held?
All the events are being held in unique and inspiring venues across Cardiff city centre, all within easy walking distance of one another. They are also easily accessible as they within walking distance of the train, bus interchange, and the civic centre car parks.
How long is each event in the festival?
Each event lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. Exact timings may vary depending on things like the length of the Q&A sessions, and how many children would like books signed. To make the most of your visit, we recommend allowing at least one hour per event.
How can I buy tickets for the Cardiff Children’s Literature festival?
As each event is designed for a specific age group, tickets are sold separately – and all tickets are priced at just £5 each. Also, the two‑day programme is thoughtfully scheduled so you can attend several events in one day.
As all venues are in Cardiff city centre, it’s easy to enjoy plenty in between sessions too – from relaxing outdoors in Bute Park to exploring free attractions like the National Museum – making it simple to turn your visit into a full and enjoyable day out.
