Spring is now in full swing and we want to raise the spirits of the residents and visitors of Cardiff!

School’s out for the Easter Holidays so Visit Cardiff have put together a guide of 10 exciting things to do to enjoy as a family. Scroll for ticketed attractions and events, fun & free activities you can be more spontaneous with, a link to family-friendly hotels in case you want to extend your stay a little longer, and some practical advice that you may need to know.

1. BREAKFAST WITH BUNNY AT THE IVY

9am – 12:30pm Sunday 20th April |  £30.95 for adults and £18.95 for kids | Book in advance

Breakfast With Bunny experience on Sunday, April 20th. Guests can enjoy a specially curated breakfast menu for both adults and children, along with fun activities, photos, and sweet treats to take home. Little ones will be delighted with a delicious breakfast alongside The Ivy Bunny, complete with bunny ears, bowties, cookie decorating, and a chocolate surprise.

The menu offers something for everyone, from a Mini Full Breakfast and smoked salmon with avocado to fluffy buttermilk pancakes and Bircher muesli. Grown-ups can indulge in a set breakfast menu featuring pastries, fresh juices, and The Ivy Breakfast, plus a collectible Easter egg filled with Belgian chocolate truffles. Guests are encouraged to book early to secure their spot!

2. MERMAID QUAY EXPLORERS: PET EDITION

12th April – 27th April | FREE Event

Embark on an explorer’s trail this School Holidays around the quay. Learning fascinating facts about pets! Collect a trail map from inside The Atrium (outside the public toilets) or a participating venue, then post your completed sheet in the mail box located in The Atrium (outside the public toilets). The Rescue Hotel, a volunteer run charity that supports Cardiff Dogs Home, will be at Mermaid Quay on Saturday 12th April between 12pm and 4pm to raise awareness of the work that they do as well as selling their fantastic merch. 100% of the proceeds go to improving the lives the wonderful dogs in their care. Look out for the branded van and gazebo!

3. TEE OFF AT TREETOP GOLF

To celebrate Easter Holidays, Treetop will be opening at 10am every day from Monday 3rd – Sunday 16th April, closing at at 8pm on Fri 7th, Sun 9th & Mon 10th April.  Even the miniest golfers can trek their trails, and families of four play for less any time, any day. With two indoor 18-hole mini golf courses to choose from, will you trek the Tropical Trail or brave the ruins of the Ancient Explorer?

4. ENJOY HALF TERM FUN AT CARDIFF CASTLE

Entertain the family and enjoy the immersive family attraction, ‘Black Tower Tales’ that brings a turbulent period of Welsh history to life, where you will discover the story of Local Welsh hero Llywelyn Bren’s medieval struggle against the oppressive Sherriff of Glamorgan. This Easter, join the team from Experimental Science at The Red Dragon Centre for a a Willy Wonka inspired adventure! Explore the science behind your favourite sweet treats at this delicious workshop on Good Friday 18 April.

10. 5 DAY CRASH COURSE AT VINDICO ARENA

The public sessions to cater for anyone and everyone, these include students, silver skaters, toddlers and lastly evening sessions.
