Weave your own willow rattle! In this step-by-step workshop led by basketmaker, Lewis Prosser, you’ll make your own willow rattle to take home.

Time: session 1 – 11:00 to 13:00; session 2 – 14:00 to 16.00

Rattles are among the oldest noise-makers in the world. They have been used in carnival processions, musical performances, spiritual rituals and as children’s toys throughout human history. In this workshop, you will learn how to weave locally grown willow into a handheld carnival rattle to bring along to the Butetown Carnival parade the following weekend.
