Set across 21 acres of the South Wales countryside, the park is home to an exciting collection of mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates. Visitors can meet much-loved species including capybaras, ring-tailed lemurs, meerkats, wallabies, armadillos, cotton-top tamarins, porcupines, prairie dogs, alpacas, reindeer and many more.

The Meadows offers much more than a traditional day at the zoo, with opportunities to get closer to the animals throughout your visit. Depending on the season and animal welfare considerations, activities may include walkthrough animal encounters, animal feeding, petting sessions and opportunities to meet reptiles and other fascinating species. A selection of bookable animal experiences is also available for visitors looking for an extra-special encounter.

The park is continually developing, with new animals, habitats and visitor facilities being introduced regularly. There is plenty to explore at your own pace, with knowledgeable staff and volunteers on hand to share their passion for the animals and help make each visit memorable.

Seasonal events take place throughout the year, including family activities during the school holidays, Halloween celebrations and a festive Christmas experience.

Visitors can also enjoy refreshments during their day and browse the gift shop for wildlife-themed souvenirs.
Every visit helps support the continued development of The Meadows, the care of its animals and its work with volunteers, schools, community organisations and supported groups across South Wales.

Whether you are planning a family day out, looking for an educational visit or simply love animals, The Meadows Wildlife Park offers a welcoming and memorable wildlife experience just a short journey from Cardiff.
