Cardiff’s state-of-the-art Principality Stadium (previously known as the Millennium Stadium) and featuring a fully retractable roof, making it one of the largest indoor arenas in the world, is the home of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and one of the most iconic stadiums in the world.  Described by the WRU as “the best rugby venue in the world”, it can be visited on a tour with an experienced tour guide that leaves you with a keen sense of the huge scale and national standing of this most impressive site.

Principality Stadium Tours resumed in May 2021 with a new outdoor route, the Champions Lap of Honour Tour and from Saturday 26 March 2022 supporters have been able to follow in the footsteps of their rugby heroes as full stadium tours resumed full-time.

Full stadium tours include a much-anticipated return to the indoor areas of the stadium including the Home and Away Dressing Rooms, Ray Gravell Press Conference Suite and the spectacular tunnel walk out into the stadium bowl to the hallowed turf – So plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Principality Stadium’s knowledgeable tour guides will share fun facts on the stadium’s history of events from International Rugby Matches & World Cups, 2012 Olympic Events, world class boxing and the 2017 UEFA Champions League Final to mighty rock & roll concerts such as the Rolling Stones, U2, Madonna and Beyonce.

Tours are currently limited to 20 persons per tour; however, larger, private groups can be arranged by contacting the Tours Manager Dave Cox at: dcox@wru.wales

Please note: The pitch may be covered at various times of the year when the stadium is being used to host other events.

All stadium tours begin at the Welsh Rugby Union Store, Westgate Street, Cardiff CF10 1NS and run from Monday – Saturday: 10am–5pm and Sunday (& Bank Holidays): 10.15am – 4pm.

Tour times are subject to change so booking ahead is advisable.  Tours do not run on 25 & 26 December, 1 January, Match Days & Event Days.
