CARDIFF ARMS PARK, HOME OF CARDIFF RUGBY
Westgate Street, CF10 1JA
Cardiff Devils headed to Cardiff Rugby where players Teddy Williams and Evan Lloyd taught them the basics of the sport, plus they learned about the team’s 150 years of history, and visited the trophy room at the iconic Arms Park.
Cardiff Rugby’s season typically runs from September – May if you want to make your weekend extra sporty, or if you’re exploring Cardiff in the week, it’s worth checking out the trophy room or Clubhouse, both free to enter.
BBC CYMRU WALES TOURS
Central Square, CF10 1FT
The Devils joined their friendly guides for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of BBC Cymru Wales, exploring the sets of some of the BBC’s iconic shows, as well as news and radio studios, and even having a go presenting the weather – and the forecast is looking sunny at Cardiff’s Vindico Arena.
You can visit BBC Cymru Wales yourself with an interactive behind-the-scenes look at BBC’s most modern broadcasting studio. Public tours can be pre-booked for Wednesday through Sunday.
CARDIFF CASTLE
Castle Street, CF10 3RB
Next the Cardiff Devils went to Cardiff Castle, to explore almost 2,000 years of history in the heart of the city. As well as the remains of a Roman fort and a Norman stronghold, they saw the lavish suite of neo-Gothic Victorian apartments created for the 3rd Marquess of Bute, one of the world’s wealthiest men in his time.
You can book admittance to Cardiff Castle (or use your Castle Key to unlock a visit), then add on a House Tour to discover the stories inside.
BARBARA’S BIER HAUS
Mill Lane, CF10 1FL
Barbara’s is definitely a regular hot spot for the Devils players to unwind après-hockey (or after exploring the city centre) and enjoy slice of pizza, or maybe just a stein of beer, plus keep an eye out for Cardiff Devils memorabilia behind the bar!
👀 Keep your eyes peeled for more clips from Cardiff Devils’ day out.
