Known for its thriving food and drink scene, creative atmosphere and abundance of nature, it is one of Cardiff’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. Visit Cardiff Says: With tickets from £1.25, visit the Roath Park Conservatory and discover unusual species of plants and trees. It also sells bird food for feeding the swans and ducks on the lake.

ATTRACTIONS

ROATH PARK & ROATH PARK CONSERVATORY

Grade 1 listed and opened in 1894. It houses a 30 acre lake in the centre of the park, popular for fishing and boating.

WELFIELD ROAD

A small but bustling street, connected to Albany Road, with a great range of eateries, shops and local businesses.

THE GATE ARTS CENTRE

The Gate provides a balanced programme of dancing, music, theatre, singing, visual arts & writing.

THE GLOBE

It was once a fully operational cinema and still retains it’s balcony and auditorium. It is now a much-loved music hub.

HOW TO GET TO ROATH

Walk: You can walk to Roath in under an hour. Whilst you’re there, the area is full of scenic walking routes including an accessible walk around Roath Park and Lake.

Bike: Ride your bike into this neighbourhood, then dock it up near Roath Park. Find more cycling information here, including the best routes, cycle paths and parking facilities.

Train: The nearest railway stations are Heath High Level and Heath Low Level, a 20 minute walk away.

Bus: Catch Cardiff Bus 28 at various departure points in the City Centre and alight at Roath Park or Lake Road East. More information and other routes here.

Car: Most streets in Roath are reserved for resident parking. Pay and displays are available.
