Bordering the fresh water lake created by Cardiff Bay Barrage, the Sports Village already boasts two Olympic standard sporting facilities, Cardiff International White Water and Cardiff International Pool, both of which were used as training venues for the London games in 2012. Alongside these you will find the Ice Arena Wales, completed in March 2016 it is both a public skating rink and home of the Cardiff Devils Elite League ice hockey team.

FUN HQ

The International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay is looking forward to welcoming a new addition to its adventure activity lineup – Fun HQ. The attraction, based in Vindico Arena, will boast a variety of clip and climb activities suitable for all ages and abilities. Opening soon.

CARDIFF DEVILS

The Cardiff Devils are a professional Elite League Ice Hockey team and play their home matches at the Vindico Arena in Cardiff Bay. Playoff champions 2019!

By Bike...

A short cycle from the city centre.

By Rail...

If you are making your way to the sports village by train then there is a regular Transport for Wales service that operates from Cardiff Central Station to Barry Island. The journey time is around 8 minutes and you should disembark at Cogan – a short 10 minute walk from the station, across the Pont y Werin bridge will bring you to the Sports Village.

By Bus...

Cardiff Bus runs the Number 9 service to the Sports Village. This service picks up from Stop KG on Westgate Street in the city centre and will drop you off on Olympian Drive, next to the Ice Arena Wales and International Pool.

By Car...

If you’re using sat nav, the post code to enter for reaching the sports village is CF11 0JS. If you’re driving in then we would recommend leaving the M4 at junction 33 and following the A4232 before exiting on to the A4055.
