Welsh Fire v Southern Brave – 22nd August

One of our cities most underrated sports teams, cricket side Welsh Fire (men’s and women’s teams) are back in action this summer as cricket’s newest competition returns to thrill crowds with more fast-paced cricket and action-packed entertainment for all ages.

Due to the inclusion of women’s cricket in the Commonwealth Games programme, The Hundred women’s competition will start a few days after the men’s this year. However, the rest of the fixtures will revert back to the popular double-header format, with both men’s and women’s teams playing on the same day – with tickets entitling fans to watch both games.

Get set for an action-packed second year of The Hundred at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

10th August @ Cardiff Castle | Tickets required.

The Lord Chamberlain’s Men – with a history stretching back to William Shakespeare himself – invite you to join them this summer for the sparkling comedy, As You Like It. One of the UK’s finest touring theatre companies present this great play as Shakespeare first saw it performed – in the open air, by an all male cast and with Elizabethan costumes, music and dance.

Separately, Rosalind and her dear friend Celia, the noble Orlando, and the usurped Duke Senior and his courtiers get banished and set up new lives in the Forest of Arden. Free from the constraints of their former lives lovers tussle, wits and fools spar, familial bonds are challenged, and everyone wrestles with what it really means to be yourself.

In exile they become exultant as true love and true identity is found in the forest. This rustic romp packed with music, laughs, cross-dressing confusion and a dash of wrestling will keep you smiling to the last.

Bring a chair and a picnic and prepare to be entertained and transported. Book early to avoid missing out!

13th-14th August @ Principality Stadium | Tickets required.

Britain’s biggest indoor motorsport event makes a blockbuster return to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
The FIM British SpeedwayGP celebrates its 20th visit to the Welsh capital since it launched there in 2001, and one of world speedway’s must-see events will be even bigger in 2022.
There are few better sounds in world sport than four 500cc SpeedwayGP machines going wheel-to-wheel under the iconic Principality Stadium roof, with a crescendo of cheers and air horns from the stands providing the ultimate backing track.
Speedway superstars Tony Rickardsson, Greg Hancock, Jason Crump, Nicki Pedersen, Chris Holder and Bartosz Zmarzlik are just some of the riders who have topped the podium in Cardiff, and how could we forget British hero Chris Harris’ jaw-dropping charge to victory in 2007?
Will we see another British winner in 2022? Head to Cardiff and find out on a weekend that features SpeedwayGP and SGP2 events – double the racing, double the excitement and two days of unforgettable action.
