Cardiff Bay Gingerbread Trail

This Christmas, Cardiff Bay will be transformed into a jolly gingerbread jamboree with sculptures of the festive treat appearing at everyone’s favourite hotspots across the Bay between 1 December – 8 January 2023.

Organisations across Cardiff Bay, led by Waterfront Partners Cardiff Bay, are joining forces to host the trail, which will see a family of gingerbread characters pop up around the Bay’s iconic waterside location.

In total there will be nine ‘sweet’ gingerbread statues spread around the Bay and a gingerbread sleigh which will take centre stage in Roald Dahl Plass.

The Trail will invite participants to find and collect all the letters on the sculptures and then unscramble them to spell out a festive word. The puzzle can be completed in English or Welsh, either in one of the booklets available at participating venues or right here from 1 December.

The family prize, which will be drawn from all the correct entries after the trail has ended, will include an overnight stay with breakfast at Future Inns, Everyman cinema tickets, family bowling at Hollywood Bowl, and a meal at Hub Box. Trail seekers are also being invited their #BayGingerbreadTrail selfies for a chance to win spot prizes from many of the Bay’s top attractions.

In addition, a Gingerbread Day in the Bay is planned for 3 December where visitors are invited to take part in a number of fun, family activities across various Cardiff Bay venues – more info coming soon!

The Gingerbread Trail is being supported by The Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Harbour Authority, The Senedd, Mermaid Quay, Giovanni’s in the Bay, Voco St David’s Hotel and the Coal Exchange Hotel Cardiff.
