FIH MEN'S WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS ARE COMING TO CARDIFF
Hockey Wales are exciting to be hosting the FIH Men’s World Cup Qualifiers in October 2021. With live sport back, spectators are invited to come down to the tournament and enjoy live international hockey once again.
The Qualifiers will take place in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, from the 21st to the 24th Of October. Eight European nations have qualified for the tournament. These are:
- France
- Russia
- Wales,
- Scotland
- Austria
- Ireland
- Poland
- Italy
Hockey Wales CEO Ria Burrage-Male said:
“We are delighted to host this major event in the international calendar – our Senior Men have not played at home, in front of a home crowd, for far too long. We host 7 nations in October, showcasing world class hockey and our wonderful city and nation.”
“We are extremely grateful to the EHF and FIH for placing their trust in us to deliver the World Cup Qualifiers, where the top 2 will head to the World Cup in India 2023.”
