Cardiff Harbour Authority’s ‘Behind the Bay’ Exhibition is now live!
Tuesday, 12 August 2025
Have you ever wondered who keeps the Barrage and parts of the Bay running day in day out or who are the people working behind the scenes here in the Bay?
To celebrate the 25th birthday of Cardiff Harbour Authority the team have a created an outdoor photo exhibition which focuses on the people ‘Behind the Bay’.
The exhibition showcases the incredible efforts of this dedicated team – from managing the operation of the barrage and its locks, monitoring water quality in the freshwater lake and supporting the safety and navigation of boats to promoting an exciting range of events and attractions, nurturing our green spaces and looking after Flat Holm Island and so much more!
The team work extremely hard 365 days a year and we are excited to see this exhibition taking pride of place here in the Bay.
This interactive exhibition will be displayed in the Bay until the end of September, before moving to Cardiff Castle and finishing at the Norwegian Church.
If you are heading to the Bay this summer, come and explore the exhibition which is situated next to the water tower just behind Roald Dahl Plass and learn more about this fantastic team!
Just a little further afield on the Barrage walkway the celebrations continue, with a collection of 25 winning hand drawn colourful banner designs.
These beautiful and eye-catching creations were designed and created by pupils from schools across Cardiff. The pupils designed the banners to demonstrate what Cardiff Bay means to them.
The banners are full of creativity and fun and showcase the variety of attractions, nature and wildlife here in the Bay.
