When are Cardiff’s Christmas Lights Switched On?

If you’re ready to let your seasonal spirits shine, then make sure you Visit Cardiff on Thu 13 November. While there is no official switch on ceremony, as evening falls our beautiful displays will twinkle into life for the first time across the city centre. On the same day, Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland, the Christmas Market, and the Bavarian Festive Quarter will all open their doors as we officially welcome the magic of the festive season.

City Centre Christmas Lights

As is traditional for Cardiff, the first Thursday following Remembrance Sunday will see our lights go on for the first time. This year falls on Thu 13 November when the main pedestrian streets and retail areas will all be twinkling merrily, and seasonal highlights including the Christmas Market and Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland will open.
