It’s one of Cardiff’s best-kept secrets situated in Castle Arcade and labelled the most romantic restaurant in Cardiff. Owned by the same team behind Gin & Juice, Rum & Fizz, Coffee Barker & Barker Team House, the Parisian-inspired bistro opened its doors in May 2023 and has been successful from the start.
The venue is an all-day dining experience, its specialty is Steak Frites, and it offers a prix-fixe menu that is simple, sophisticated, and delicious. The menu includes starters of twice-baked cheese soufflé, escargots, and French onion soup. The main event is the spécialité Maison, entrecôte frites, sauce secret and petite salade Verte, it’s their house specialty of lean trimmed Steak with French fries, Secret Sauce & dressed green salad.
The interior is romantic, chic and the ambiance makes you feel like you’ve been transported across the channel to Paris. The directors Stephen & Charlotte Barker explained every time they visit Paris, they fall in love with the simple bistros, effortless style, great food and wine and as there’s nothing like it in Cardiff, we wanted to bring that Parisian atmosphere back to our home city.
